Right to Education International Inc. is a US based 501(c)(3) organization, located in Grayson, Georgia. We serve the educational needs of minorities in the United States, and indigent children in Liberia, respectively.
Right to Education International was founded in 2019 to honor the legacy of the late Dr. Emmanuel T. Dolo, a scholar, and the founder and CEO of Lifeworks International, a former Minnesota based research firm, and Center for Liberia’s Future, a West African think-tank located in Liberia, respectively.
The organization’s philosophy is based on its patron’s lived experience. Our vision encapsulates the life story of Dr. Emmanuel T. Dolo, a poor rural boy who attained the highest level of education. Dr. Dolo hailed from a remote village in Nimba County, Liberia in West Africa. He was born and raised in poverty by his father, an elementary school drop-out and his mother who had no formal education. The elder Dolo, a security guard and a man with little education, understood the value of education and the opportunities and possibilities that it opens. He saw it as an escape out of the cycle of poverty. Despite his limited education and resources, the family sacrificed to ensure that Emmanuel went to school. His mother sold “street food” to provide his uniforms and notebooks, while the father who could not assist Emmanuel with his lessons, sat with him two hours daily to provide moral support and instill the discipline of hard work.
Emmanuel was a brilliant and determined man, which attributes won him scholarships throughout his academic journey. His quest for knowledge was insatiable. Through his hard work and opportunities, he earned a PhD in Applied Research and Social Work. Dr. Dolo was an astute researcher and a policy expert. Thus, the organization’s ethos, “Education is an intrinsic right for all children, irrespective of socioeconomic background” is embedded in our lived experiences, and not a mere cliché.
